By now you might have a good idea of what Functional Medicine is from reading my previous blog. If you missed it, head back and read it, as it is a great foundation for understanding what we do. While I believe every single person will benefit from a Functional Medicine approach, I do find that it is those people who have had ongoing issues that seek us out. These often include:
Autoimmune disease
Gut imbalances such as SIBO or IBS
Thyroid problems
Metabolic syndrome with elevated blood sugar and perhaps fatty liver
Lyme disease
Chronic inflammation
Exposure to mold and the subsequent inflammation
Most people’s conditions are more than just their symptoms; there are a variety of factors that have led them to the point of their presenting symptoms. There are genetics, environmental factors such as nutrient status, health of the immune system, the effects of toxins, the role of stress, the contribution from sleep…each of these can play a role in the development of symptoms and conditions.
Here at the Integrative Functional Medicine Center, we are excited to announce our new offering, our Clinical Pathways. The Clinical Pathways are a team approach to wellness, which I have found in my years as a practitioner to be the most successful approach.
A new patient coming to our practice will be seen and supported by our clinical team, including our health and nutrition coach along with our medical provider.
This team approach will provide each patient with the information, education and individual support they need in making the changes that are part of the functional medicine treatment and care plan.
We are excited to be able to provide this individualized, personal care to our patients and support them on their functional medicine journey to improved health.
We invite you to come join us and see how you can benefit from our new Clinical Pathways.
