Martha Calihan, MD
Board Certified in Integrative & Holistic Medicine as well as Family Medicine, Certified Functional Medicine physician Dr. Calihan brings decades of experience to her work with patients, whom she helps achieve optimal health and wellness through a variety of techniques.

Dr. Calihan has spent many years studying and obtaining credentials in holistic, functional, and integrative medicine. Her practice has been awarded the Best of Loudoun prize for alternative medicine each year since 2007.

Dr. Calihan graduated from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, before obtaining her medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
Dr. Calihan trained and precepted at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC, and she also trained in acupuncture with Dr. Joseph Helms at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
In 2000, Dr. Calihan earned her board-certification in Holistic Medicine, and in 2014 became a member of the first class of Certified Functional Medicine Physicians through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Dr. Calihan was a founding owner and former medical director at Loudoun Medical Group, one of the largest multi-specialty physician practices in the mid-Atlantic region. She was also their Board Chair from 2000 to 2005.
Dr. Calihan specializes in the treatment of chronic, complex conditions, including autoimmune disease, thyroid and hormonal imbalances, biotoxin illness, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia. Using the Functional medicine approach, she searches for the cause of a condition and then works to help rebalance the system.
Bringing an element of Spirituality to her work, Dr Calihan weaves the science with the Sacred and blends the medicine with the mysticism. She has a special interest in end of life care, and is the author of A Death Lived, in which she describes her husband’s final illness and death as told through her dual vantage points of physician and wife.
Dr Calihan teaches meditation and offers workshops both in the US and Ireland.

Koni Mandic

Originally from Macedonia, Koni came to the United States in 2001 where she met her husband and was destined to stay. She studied Sociology and Social Politics at the University of Kiril in Metodi, Macedonia and lived in England as an exchange student for 4 years. She has worked in the medical field for 18 years in a variety of roles and brings this exceptional knowledge along with her genuine care and concern for our patients. She has one daughter whom she adores and enjoys cooking and entertaining for her friends and family in the traditional Macedonian way.
