Our clinical services provide patients with comprehensive medical care including diagnosis and treatment, health assessments and screenings, labs and referrals provided by our physicians, nurse practitioners and specialists. In order to fully identify and treat the root causes of illness, chronic and acute conditions we offer a full measure of effective therapies including complementary holistic therapies listed below.
Our physicians are licensed to practice and use acupuncture to treat specific acute pain, such as elbow tendonitis, osteoarthritis of the knees, shoulder tendonitis, low back pain, plantar fasciitis, as well as for a variety of other conditions. Acupuncture is a very successful treatment for the nausea and gastrointestinal upset following chemotherapy, and is useful for general medical conditions as well.
Acupuncture has been practiced in Asia for thousands of years, and is a key healing practice of the wider system of Oriental Medicine. It is a method of healing that works on the body’s energetic system, a biological construct akin to the central nervous system but one that has yet to be defined satisfactorily in western medicine.
In recent years, acupuncture has becoming increasingly popular as treatments in conventional medical centers. Studies underwritten by the NIH have established the effectiveness of acupuncture for a variety of conditions, most notably pain. The US military and veterans health systems have been adopting acupuncture to treat pain in combat situations and for post-traumatic stress. Acupuncture is also now widely available in cancer treatment regimens.
The program encompasses a variety of styles, movements and equipment, all personalized to each client’s individualized prescription and goals. Whether your goal is to lose weight, increase strength and tone, improve cardiovascular endurance, train for a specific sport, prevent and/or rehab from an injury, postpone osteoporosis, or to improve your overall general health, our counselors will develop the personal fitness program for that goal.
The fundamental health benefits of this training include increasing lean body mass, increasing bone density, increasing metabolic and cardiovascular efficiency, and decreasing body fat.
During your initial session we will assess your posture, how your body moves, so that we can more accurately prescribe the flexibility and exercise program for you. Our personal training sessions retrain your brain, reshape your body, while strengthening your core and re-establishing good body posture to allow greater ease of movement.
Our dynamic, fun, and goal-oriented workouts combine flexibility, core stability, resistance training, functional movements, and strength workouts and are great for general fitness and for improving health.

Massage therapy can be an integral part of an integrative health care program, whether for general wellbeing or as an adjunctive therapy for post-operative or chemotherapy support. Bodywork, such as massage therapy, offers another means to support the body’s healing capacity. Through our massage therapy program, clients can experience a variety of techniques, from Swedish and deep tissue massage to myofascial and craniosacral techniques.
Pollutants and toxins are everywhere—water, food, soil, air, dust, and everyday products and objects in the home or workplace. While the body is normally an efficient detoxification machine on its own, the modern world we live in can put a strain on even the healthiest of us. Build-up of these toxins in the body can lead to a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms—fatigue, headaches, malaise, irritability, mood swings, bloating, insomnia, and muscle/joint aches and pains.
We may have limited control over our environment, and information about the nature and composition of the products we use and the foods we eat may not always be clear. It is therefore helpful to assist the body’s inherent detoxification processes with periodic detox treatments that will include supplementation with targeted nutrients to help the body process excess toxins.
If you are experiencing perplexing symptoms like this listed above, consult with one of our physicians or counselors about the possibility of toxicity reactions and which of our programs is the best option for you.
We live in a culture where stress is a significant part of many people’s lives, and is a part of the root cause of many people’s symptoms. Research and clinical experience have shown beyond doubt that stress can exacerbate modest ailments and lead over time to complex chronic conditions.
While we cannot always change the sources of stress in our life, we can control how we respond to that stress and reduce the impact it can have on our body’s systems. This is why evaluating one’s level of stress – and identifying its sources – is one the first assessments we make with our patients in order to understand how it may be affecting your wellbeing.
We have a variety of programs and services designed to help people learn to manage their stress and to get their “stress physiology” back into balance. Different methods may be employed, such as biofeedback, meditation and massage. Practitioners will work with individuals in order to determine what stress management program will work best for that person. We believe that learning effective tools to handle stress is one of the key components of good health.
Yoga, Meditation and Reiki
Yoga, meditation and Reiki are practices based on the most fundamental life functions: breathing, stretching, and maintaining an optimal flow of energy or life force. They invite us to breath, stretch and to be. They integrate body, mind and spirit, and foster an awareness of who we are at the core of our being.
Yoga is an amalgam of ancient psycho-physical-spiritual practices that include gentle and rigorous physical stretches, controlled breathing patterns, and techniques for quieting the senses. It also induces a sense of inner peace and calm.
Meditation is a universal practice that enables one to quiet the mind by observing it in a non-analytical way. It is simple, still and silent. Feelings of peace and unity with ourselves and the world around us are often experienced. One can also reflect on one’s spiritual beliefs thereby connecting us to the higher Source pervading the universe.
Reiki is a non-invasive laying-on-of-hands that restores energy imbalances in our system and attunes us with “ki” or “universal life force.” This energetic attunement is similar to tuning a musical instrument so the “music” of our lives is more clear and harmonious.
On a physiological level, each of these modalities has a profound effect on reversing the negative effects of stress and its related symptoms. They have been effective in reducing high blood pressure, headaches, gastrointestinal problems, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, and other chronic problems such as fibromyalgia and adrenal fatigue.
They are also easily integrated into any medical treatment plan, and complement all clinical services offered.
A well-proven and respected mind-body modality that is recommend by many medical doctors, counselors, and psychotherapists. We use it as one of many tools designed to reach the roots of ill health, which can sometimes result from lifestyle habits we are powerless to overcome.
Under hypnosis, the mind is more open than usual to new suggestions, which allows the trained practitioner to re-frame entrenched thoughts and perceptions to alter the way we perceive situations, how we behave and react to our deep seated emotions, all of which can lead to negative behavior when we are conscious.
For instance: we might consciously strive to change a behavior, attitude or pattern with all our heart, but stumble and fall over and over. Under hypnosis, the doorway between the conscious and the subconscious is opened, memories become easily accessible, and new information can be stored, often re-framing perceptions. We are not really “thinking” in the traditional sense in this process. Rather we are “experiencing” without questioning, without critical judgment or analysis (as we may when watching the surf roll in, or the sun set). As a result the hypnotherapist can suggest alternative behaviors that are very likely to “stick,” because the conscious mind is not getting in the way.
Hypnosis, sometimes described as “massage for the brain,” can address a variety of health problems by bringing the mind to a quieted state and suggesting modifying negative behaviors that affect physiological functions and thus compromise good health.
